Thank you for writing to express your concerns about comments made about
Chinese people on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Your correspondence is important to me
, and I welcome the opportunity to respond.
I recognize you have concerns that during an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, a
child responded to Mr. Kimmel's question about how the U.S. should repay
its debt to China by saying "kill everyone in China." Mr. Kimmel then asked
the children to discuss whether such an approach was reasonable.
I too found this skit to be extremely offensive. I believe that such
language should never be tolerated. As you may know, ABC and Jimmy Kimmel
have since issued apologies for airing this skit.
I understand you oppose ABC continuing to air Mr. Kimmel's show. According
to ABC, they have taken efforts to edit the skit from the show and remove it
from public platforms, but there are currently no plans to pull the program
from the network, and it will continue to air as normal.
Chinese immigrants and Chinese-Americans, indisputably, have greatly
contributed to our nation. Please be assured that I will continue to fight
against discrimination in all its forms as I continue my duties as a United
States Senator.

santa clara intl swimming center and fremont high both have 50m pool, but
theymark the lanes sideways
