My car just get transported from east coast to CA. I am going to register
the car soon. Does anyone knows what(for example, what kind of inspection/
testing) do I need to do before I go to DMV for registration?

I just did the same thing. Do Smog test check (I did it, but dmv did not
even look at it).
Then bring all other documents you can think of.
Lots of people there, you don't want to wait for a long time and end up
forgetting some documents.

To the documents I can only think of title and old registration. Anything
else?
Do I need bring the proof for insurance?

registration and tile.
