Re: SUPPORT SB218(Yee)
Dear Mr. Chairman and Members of the Committee:
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Traumatology, together with Acupuncture,
is another main branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine which has been used
for treatment of patients for centuries. Different from Acupuncture,
Traditional Chinese Medicine Traumatology is more about bone-setting.
Numerious patients have benefited from the treatment of Traditional
Chinese Medicine Traumatology in China. Contrasted with standard western
treatments which often rely on invasive techniques, In Traditional Chinese
Medicine Traumatology , Non-invasive “Maneuver therapy ” was used to
correct bone-related injury and disease, dislocations, injuries of the
muscles, tendons and ligaments etc.
Traditional Chinese Medicine Traumatology have been used widely in China. It
is well known that China athletics’ success in Olympics and other world
sports competition. Behind those, the secret is actually those Traditional
Chinese Medicine Traumatologist helped the China athletics their injury in
sports competition so that they could have better performance. Although
being introduced in 1800’s accompanying with the first coming Chinese
immigrants building the railroads , TCM Traumatology is still not approved
officially. In this case, The TCM Traumatologist can not really do much to
help those patients under current law.
I have been having neck and back problems after the accident in 2005. I
have been looking for the right TCM Traumatologist who can help me. Finally,
I am glad a group of such practioners exist in the state of California and
have been providing highly skilled care. So it is necessary that the
lawmakers can include this in our medical system so that there will be more
certified TCM Traumatologist and more regulations in this field.
Actually, Californian’s economy will also get benefits from this bill.
After Acupuncture is approved in our medical system, many jobs related with
Acupuncture education and devices etc have been generated. Many students
have been striving to be Acupuncturist. Similar thing will happen when TCM
Traumatology is approved in our state. Most importantly, TCM Traumatology
provides an alternate efficient treatment from the standard treatment in low
cost, thus to reduce the cost of health care insurance.
It takes 19 years for Acupuncture to be approved. I hope I will not need to
wait so long to see that for TCM Traumatology. I urge our lawmakers can
have the vision and use your wisdom to vote for this bill benefitting of
our Californians. |
