关于capvdi是否dedutible有2种不同的解释，属于灰色地带。Federal 1040 Schedule
A写了SDI，但也没有特别否认CAVPDI，似乎没听说过人被IRS challenge过VPDI。
正方的一个力证是2007年和以前的加州540表里确认了CAPVDI是deductible的，原文如
下：
Line 39 – State, Local, Foreign Income Taxes, and General Sales Tax
Add the following amounts from federal Schedule A (Form 1040) and
enter on line 39:
• Line 5, state and local income tax (including limited partnership
tax
and income or franchise tax paid by corporations), and State Disability
Insurance (SDI) or Voluntary Plan Disability Insurance (VPDI).
• Line 8, foreign income taxes.
但是2008以后540这段就拿掉了VPDI
