近期要到South San Francisco工作，上来求租房的建议
现在2口人，lp准备找工作
1~2年内准备要小孩
普通单职工收入
希望租2bed 1bath的apartment，预算$2000~$2800/month
realtor强烈不推荐住在South San Francisco
说房子稍微便宜一点
但是周围啥都没有，去哪里都要开车
interview的时候realtor带着跑马观花看了看
Bayview
San Bruno
Millbrae
San mateo
Foster city
Redwood city
对Millbrae，San mateo，Foster city，Redwood city印象不错
请问这些地方safety怎么样？
周围生活方便，舒适程度那个比较好？
往South San Francisco的交通拥挤程度咋样？
听说Bay area房子很难找，大概要花多少时间，看，等能够找到比较理想的apt？

发帖数: 2528 | 5 BAYVIEW,BIG no no。太不安全了。在canderstick park西边，靠着101有两三个公寓好
像还可以。没住过。
san bruno和south san francisco，靠着飞机场的这边，一方面是安全问题，一方面是
飞机起飞吵死了。
其他的地方我觉得都还好。

我觉得停车也是一个很大的消费。这样也决定你是否要找一个靠着public
transportation 的地方。
如果夫妻都工作，都要开车，那还要找两个车位的公寓。
我们当时找房子，要找两个车位的，发现好难的啊。一般都提供一个，另一个街拍，找
街拍太痛苦了。

而且有公司的bus
所以准备找bus路线上的地方
这样一个人上班就不用开车了
这个问题还没考虑到

发帖数: 210 | 13 SSF is not too bad, if you can get used to the airplane noise. All cities
you mentioned above has airport noise, but SSF and San Bruno are worst due
to plane take-offs.
SSF, take a look at the ArchStone apartments near SSF BART station. They
seem to have good management and walking distance to shoppings. I used to
live near there, walk to Costco, Trader Joe's, Hospital, BART, Pacific
Supermarket(华美), Safeway, Bank, etc. And 10 minutes drive to all shopping
needs: 4 big malls (Tanforan, Towne, Serramonte, MetroCenter, Ranch 99 Daly
City (大华). The hill part can get foggy from time to time, but from El
Camino eastwards should be OK. Downtown has a special vibe with nearby
Biotech companies.
San Bruno, not familiar, also has an archstone apartment right cross street
from Tanforan, but not as convenient for shopping as the SSF one.
Bayview, no safe, pass.
Millbrae, lots of Chinese (more cantonese speaking), good shops and
restaurants, nice weather, but a bit windy up hills. Walkable shopping
except no big Chinese market (like 大华，华美，永和, etc., but there are
small Chinese markets for everyday needs). BART/Caltrain inter-station is a
big plus is you take them (these two trains combined you can go pretty much
all city around the bay area). Good schools too but that shouldn't concern
you much. Recommend somewhere near the downtown shopping area (Broadway
near Hillcrest/Millbae).
Foster City, lots of Chinese (more mandarin speaking), two big Chinese
markets and many restaurants, and big shopping malls. But somehow I found
the Chinese markets in Foster city have higher price than other places. Lot
of apartments to choose from. It also have a good bi-lingual daycare/pre-
school. Not very walkable for shopping. Nice views and parks. Can be
windy from time to time. Tend to have heavy traffic on 101 near hillsdale/
hwy92/3rdAve.
San Mateo, bigger city than the above. Nice neighborhoods in general.
Price range can vary a lot depend on which block you are looking. No big
Chinese markets, but you can always drive to foster city across 101. Many
good Chinese restaurants and Chinese people too. Warmer and nicer weather.
Redwood city, hotter weather, mix neighborhoods (there are good ones and bad
ones). I am not familiar but in general, the more you go up hill, the
better neighborhood. Personally, I would think it is bit too far, and
commute becomes a problem.
Earthquake is everywhere and almost every month, so don't get too scared.
You will get used to it. | s*******g

议你选择millbrae的房子，非常方便，有bart,Caltrain,如果住在downtown附近 和美
，中超市已经药店都是walkable distance.j就是房子出来的很少 | c****n
