I don't read much at all, honest.
You need to know basics such a support, resistance,
trend lines, and how to use them.
Other than that, I have not learned much more about
chart reading. I would say my knowledge about chart
reading is probably 1% of the top experts here.
However, I have access to results of sophisticated
models. With those, it is just doing some simple
arithmetic to find out where (at what price level)
to buy/cover or sell/short. Plus a bit more simple
arithmetic to allocate your cash properly to handle
unexpected,adverse price moves which are increasingly
frequent.
As long as you trade conservatively and maintain a
very substantial amount of cash or buying power, even
the adverse price moves can become better opportunities
that you can then take advantage of and profit from.
