San Jose: Police identify suspect in stabbing death of girlfriend
The 33-year-old woman stabbed to death by her boyfriend last week was
identified Wednesday as Lijia Zheng, San Jose police said.
San Jose police had already arrested 48-year-old Peter Shui for killing
Zheng, who lived in San Jose.
Police said Shui, also a San Jose resident, stabbed Zheng inside a second-
story unit of the Park Kiely Luxury Apartments on Albany Drive at 2:35 a.m.
on Friday. Shui called 911 saying he had killed his girlfriend, and remained
at the scene for officers to arrest him.
Neighbors said they heard a woman, presumably, Zheng, screaming out as she
was stabbed several times. By the time officers arrived, she was dead.
Zheng was the 29th homicide victim of the year in San Jose, but since her
killing another man, 59-year-old Randall Wilson, was stabbed to death in
Roosevelt Park on Sunday morning. | y***t
