one of the positions.
Position Summary
This role is development position working on F5's high performance
network traffic management applications. We're looking for a senior
level engineer to develop switch and other platform support in a x86 /
Linux environment.
Responsibilities
Design, implement and test L2 features and functionality for F5 products
Optimize product performance through low-level kernel.
Implement network protocols such as LLDP, LACP, RSTP, MSTP, etc. for a
distributed switch system.
Develop maintainable, extensible solutions to complex internal
communications and schema problems.
Document software designs via functional specifications and other design
documents
Qualifications
MSCS/CE/EE or equivalent
Five years of professional software development experience in a Unix-
based environment
Three years of experience in Ethernet, TCP/IP and other L2/L3/L4
networking protocols
Mastery of C and data structures required
Mastery of C++
Fluency in STL, Perl and TCL a plus.
Extensive background in TCP/IP networking
Extensive background in x86 / Unix kernel development
Knowledge and expertise in software engineering methodologies and
effective unit testing
Exceptionally strong written and verbal communications skills
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Duties are performed in an office environment while sitting at a desk or
computer table. This position requires the ability to use a computer
keyboard, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal
working hours (evenings and weekends)
