Career Decisions and Opportunities in Chongqing

Event Summary
Career decisions, such as job changes, could be exciting as well as
challenging. Considerations usually involve multiple factors and decisions
are sometimes hard to make. China offers many exciting job opportunities,
but it is a much harder decision to move back to China. In this career
development seminar, Professor Yu n He will share his perspectives on career
decisions using his personal experience as an example, with a focus on his
China experience. In addition, Yun shall share some career opportunities in
the biomedical field in Chongqing, in particular, at Chongqing University. Q
/A shall be a significant part of the seminar. So, please prepare your

Speaker
Professor Yun He
Yun He, Ph.D., is a Professor at the Innovative Drug Research Center (IDRC)
at Chongqing University and the Head of Liangjiang Drug R&D Center (DRDC) in
Chongqing. He is also a member of China’s National 1000 Talent Program.
Before joining IDRC, he was the Senior Vice President and Chief Scientific
Officer (CSO) at Bioduro (Beijing) Co. Ltd., the Head of Medicinal Chemistry
at Roche R&D Center (China) and a member of Roche Global Chemistry
Leadership Team, and an Associate Director of Medicinal Chemistry at the
Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation (GNF) in San Diego.
Prior to GNF, he served as a Group Leader at ISIS Pharmaceuticals and a
Chemist at Abbott Laboratories. He received his Ph.D. degree from The
Scripps Research Institute, and has published over 61 research papers and is
co-inventor of 74 patent applications. He has contributed to the discovery
of a number of clinical compounds. He was the President (2005-2006) and a
board director of Sino-American Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Association
(SABPA), San Diego, is a board director of The BayHelix Group and an
advisor for the Biomedicine Industry of Liangjiang New Area in Chongqing. |
