Taxpayers in San Francisco, California will now pay for "gender-switching,"
transgender surgeries to "help ease the mental anguish of people who feel
they are trapped in bodies of the wrong gender." These operations will be
covered under San Francisco's universal health care program for the
uninsured.
The San Francisco Health Commission on Tuesday approved of these
controversial operations; public health officials in the city and
transgender rights advocates discussed how they could get procedures such as
mastectomies and genital reconstruction surgery covered under San Francisco
's universal health care system for individuals who consider themselves
transgender.
These measures were approved even though San Francisco, under current Mayor
Ed Lee, has had to slash local services and increase the local tax burden on
residents to cover the city's record $7 billion budget for the last fiscal
year.
Kristina Wertz, program director for the Transgender Law Center, said "all
Americans" should be able to receive taxpayer-funded transgender surgeries.
“That’s why we applaud San Francisco’s decision to allow transgender
people the ability to receive the medical care they need to be healthy,”
Wertz proclaimed.
Thomas Moyer, a San Francisco resident who authored "A Conservative Survival
Guide To San Francisco," said San Francisco taxpayers could not foot the
bill for transgender surgeries.
“Taxpayers cannot afford this, as there are unintended costs and unintended
consequences unrelated to the actual surgery, such as their longer-term
hormone treatment, psychology needs and other longer term health issues,”
Moyer said. |

All people in USA who wants to do this transgender surgery
will move to california. California tax payers will pay for
the cost for all of those medical immigrants from other US states.
As a result, public school funding will be cut again and again.

想上高中大学去OHIO，好生的不教育，可以继续

it is a city health program reform, I don't see how you link a city's budget
directly to all CA residents
will more people move to SF because of this change? maybe. will these people
bankrupt SF? doubtful. if it really happens, will SF amend their
regulations to put some restrictions on this? you bet. success or failure,
let it run its course.
SF is famous for its gay-friendly environment. I'm not surprised by this at
all. It is still an attractive city where people love to live or visit.

TRAINING，最后填表填得烦死了，还是找工作算了。

food stamp, plus free medicaid, I am sure
it's a happier life experience than taking all work stress
and work-life out-of-balance. Food stamp alone is enough to
eat balanced nutritious food cooked at home, plus lobster every week.
In addition, kids from food stamp families never need to pay a penny for
college education. They don't need any education loan.
They can also drop out of college at any time without any guilty feeling of
wasting their parents' hard earned money. They can also fall back on food
stamp any time.
