Really need your help. Thank you for your time.
My mom (B2), with no health care insurance, was sent to ER with ambulance in
southern CA (Kaiser ER). Is there any one with similar experience knowing
how to handle the medical bill? Many thanks. I am waiting for the bills and
am very scared. | s*****u 发帖数: 494 | 2 1. Ask them for application for MFA (Medical Financial Assistance) and tell
them that your mom is only here for short-term visit. They may assign you a
financial counselor ( service is free) to work with you on the application.
If you get approved for MFA, they might waive part or all of the emergency
care expenses ( probably not the ambulance expenses, but everything else).
2. Have your mom sign all the paperworks so legally you are not liable.
3. If your mom is older than 65, apply for medi-ca

Is it ok that my mom does not pay for her embulance and medical bills? Will
this affect her visa next time?
Many thanks | s*****u 发帖数: 494 | 4 Affecting her visa next time? Probably not. Assuming that you can get
financial assistance and the remaining balance is affordable, I would pay it
off if I were you, but it is up to you. |
