1) optimal solution: don't buy it.
2) suboptinal solutions:
pre-a) do LOTS of homework on diamonds and the trade;
a) get a GI-certification;
b) find a dealer you trust;
c) go to a retailer;
d) comparison shopping;
e) buy a stone and mount separately. Dealers
mount stones because their defects are inpossible
to see once mounted;
