NEW YORK (AP) -- Harry Potter fans, the rumors are true: Albus Dumbledore,
master wizard and Headmaster of Hogwarts, is gay.
J.K. Rowling, author of the mega-selling fantasy series that ended last
summer, outed the beloved character Friday night while appearing before a
full house at Carnegie Hall. After reading briefly from the final book, "
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," she took questions from audience
members.

mind other people's life.
Needless to say, Rowling created the character of Albus Dumbledore and she
has the right to interpret her creation however she feels like before it's
published. However, once it’s out, it no longer belongs solely to the
author anymore.
It's just the explanation is not convincing enough. The so-called “true
love” of Dumbledore with Grindelwald can be also deemed as the profound
mutual understandi

I agree there is no need to put some "spicy" on it, as the 7 books are
excellent deja.
You said, "once it's out, it no longer belongs solely to the author anymore"
. Very well said indeed.
But what she said, D's love, probalby be his great tragety.

I read them several times too. I found it was very interesting to pay
attention to details. Some tiny adjectives, verbs, reveal really a lot,
especially when you read the book again then you will find it.

| or 发帖数: 720 | 9 book 7 did give me the impression that Dumbledore might be gay..there are
some implicit sentences reading strangely and secretively.. but at the time
i thot i might be overeading into lines or got that impression from some
maniac fanfictions flooded on the internet these days.
after all i was not too sensitive..;)
wonder whether rowling set this right at the beginning or get the idea later
. | s****s 发帖数: 19 | 10 like a general saying - if you look for it, you will find it.
It is Rowling's interpretation anyway. If it is inconsistent with the
characters all along, then it is a bad interpretation.
Also, suppose D has feelings for G, it has to cross a certain threshold to
make him a gay, and of course, my use of gay may not be the same as your use
of gay... whatsoever... hoho |
