quite carefully then somehow lost interest.;) the author was rather humourous
but not that appealing.;)
also "daddy-long-legs", since it was talked of recently. surprised to find it
a romance novel of young girls like little women and anne in green gabels.
had thought it to be kids' story.;) it was not appealing either.;) maybe
it's my problem, having to sneez every 10 seconds due to severe allergy to

I am half way through this book. Very good read, I enjoy it very much,
just as I did with her other books. Absolutely agree on what you said about
not being able to skip chapters. She creates so many characters, and so
effectively that I have actually come to care about them.
//hand ... It is unhealthy obssesion.

multi-threaded plot. Yet the narrative is never tiring. That is a delicate
balance.
Another author I like is John le Carre, who is known for complicated
characters and bleak plot, but I feel "I've got to get into a mental state
like the karate guys" before I can read his books.
And there are lesser authors. You could read every one of ten lines and not
miss much.

really
can't
so
period.

either
i once looked for yu hua's books on amazon.com, turned out only "to live" was
there(at that time, early last year). the whole business is annoying, to say
the least. there are two subjects that can get you better-known nowadays:
organized crime and individual perversity. bleh, it sucks to be a reader once
you've grown up. i'd rather browse the junior section. =/
