发帖数: 2135 | 4 Starting with Catcher in the Rye, which is the text book for US high school
kids, is a good idea.
Then you can try On the Road, it's in easy words although u may feel a
little bored if u r not into the mood.
Also you may take Paul Auster's books, like his famous New York Trilogy as
a soap reading.
Hemingway's works may be your next step. It'd be even better
if u've read them in Chinese version.

that it works the best if you start with the books that you have read in your

有点太罗嗦，就没接着看。harry potter系列倒是我的最爱，
到目前能看得都看了。我现在想看一些比较有意思的英文书，
主要是为了放松，提高英语倒在其次。NYT bestsellers有些
书并不是很有意思，所以想请教一下各位最近还读过什么
有意思的书没有？谢谢

最近看了本几十年前的best seller

我现在就靠labmate给推荐他们“中学时就能看懂的”英文书了。
那些更高难度的就算了。

我也觉得能看懂中学生阅读水平的东西，对我现在就是一个合适的目标了

It is typical american adventure/action story, good for light
reading, and one could learn some history from it as well :)
too bad he stopped writing it and drifted off to more non-fiction stuff

系列，就跑到图书馆借了前两本，guide to the galaxy
和restaruant at the end of universe。第一本读的还
挺有意思，但后来他的这种风格看多了，并不是特别喜欢
也没有一个明确的故事主线。可能是个人偏好不同把。
所以看完了restaurant就没再往下继续。

发帖数: 4 | 27 老说看书看书，结果老偷懒。入秋后便发奋图强，看完了下面这些书：
East of Eden:
强烈推荐。情节完整，语言优美，主题鲜明，对每个人物都留下深刻印象。
不过有大段的景物描写，可以删去不读。
The DaVinci Code:
还可以，描写非常细致，对宗教的评论比较有趣。很多人读完此书后便去
考证作者的一些论点。
The Great Gatsby:
就不用多说了。很多人都喜欢这本书。
Pride and Prejudice:
估计大家都熟悉故事情节。语句跟现代稍有不同。读完后便想如果
自己生活在那个年代会如何。
Along came a spider:
小说比电影好看多了。记得看完电影并没有觉得Alex是个黑愤青。
不过看小说时总会有Alex的声音环绕在脑海中。非常奇妙的感觉。
The unbearable lightness of being:
认为电影比小说好，可能是翻译的原因,
也可能是那两个女演员的演技比较好。
