Our 15th President James Buchanan is recognized as our first gay President
since he was a "confirmed bachelor" and made no bones about not getting
married. But there have been lots of "closeted gay Presidents," including
Abraham Lincoln if you read his letters to a male soulmate and companion.
Lincoln was closer to this man than he ever was to Mary Todd. Lots of people
