I'm the wife--the 'family reason' in the email. What I'm going to say here
does not necessarily represent Mr.Gao's view or opinion, but I think I
should list the facts here.
1. The original job post by statcompute says nothing about location. In fact
,53 bank has been recruiting a fixed income quant role located in NY on
their official website for a while, so at first I thought the position was
in NY.
2. The 'family reason' in the reply is not an excuse actually. I've been
doing intern in NYC and got the fulltime offer recently. I decide to accept
the offer and stay here, so my husband will need to relocate to NYC.
3. Personally, I don't see anything inappropriate done by Mr.Gao in the
whole process. He replied to the person nicely as soon as he learnt the
location of this position, instead of wasting their time for several rounds
of interviews. I'm also open to different opinions. Please feel free to send
me PM.
4. I think my husband will come and post after consulting with the lawyer.
Again, I'm not posting on his behalf here. Thanks to all the ID supporting
