This is not a nice book, but a book about reality.
So many "famous" people, talking about their career, are simply to glorify
themselves with all kinds of flowery words. Many articles in "How I become a
quant" are this kind of bullshit.
This book is bloody, full of real world brutality, conflict, and frustration
. You can learn a lot from reading this book. I probably cannot do better
than the author if I were in his situation.
One thing I do not quite get, though, is why he wants to become the head of
research so much. In the world of quantitative investment, is this title
particularly meaningful ? Sometimes I feel he falls victim of the big fund
manager, who uses him to control/manipulate other traders. |

How I become a quant" is a absolutely one hundred percent bullshit book. I
can clearly recall that i got goosebumps ALL THE TIME while read through
that book.

company that the author works for just fired him after being failed to
promote him as the head of research. Why cant those firms just keep him stay
in put as a trader who has good strategies to make money? |
