小弟不想作developer,那么C++要学到什么程度？本人作SCIENTIFIC COMPUTING的，
不是计算机专业的，有什么职位适合呢？

C++一般的，都去了前台了。
也许是我样本小，但是感觉C++越好，离backoffice越近。

fund.

yes, positions in HFT need developers. IB and hedge fund also need
developers.

particular language, if developer is not what you are looking for,
especially for your first job.
this is also OP's concern.
working knowledge java/c++ is fine for almost all fresh interviews. people
won't expect you to know much unless you claim you've been coding daily for
5+ years.
although, my sample size is not very big, afterall i'm not HH, i could be wrong.

有些公司的structure是所有desk用一个execution system，那些个写core c++ code的
developer的奖金可不是一般的多。。。

extremely high.
if you are top 1% among developers, you can earn a lot for sure. But also
depends on timing, specialty, and lots of other factors.

给点统计数据把，如果the developers you are working with不来这里的话。。。

super strong" or even "strong".
Even a candidate who coded everyday during his/her PhD years would still be
safe to claim "have working knowledge about c++".
