$8.5 billion under management, suspended redemptions after
it suffered severe losses and was hit hard by withdrawal
requests. The firm’s QVT Overseas vehicle, which has $4.4 billion
under management, gained 2.5% this year through May
15. It lost 36.6% in 2008.
Dan Gold founded QVT in 2004 after he left Deutsche Bank,
where he was a star trader on that bank’s proprietary trading
desk.
