He saw some senior analyst positions require PHD in Finance.
Is it possible for a master student to start his career in finance and
years later promoted to senior analyst in terms of status in firms and
salaries?
What matter in this field, five years' experience or a 5 year for degree
without experience? I know if you happen to have all of them, it is better
for sure.

between MS and PHD in the majors finance, mathematics, statistics and OR. If
you enter the industry with MS and do some routine jobs, it might be a bit
hard to be promoted to the position requiring Phd in finance.
