percentage) for trading stocks, options, and futures?
In some markets, the bid/ask spread could be as low as 1 cent. It seems
pretty hard for market makers to make profit with some transaction fee. | G*****3 发帖数: 71 | 6 It is totally depends on your contract term.
The incentive for market maker normally come from 3 areas,
1. The lump sum payment at the end of year, depends on how well you have
fulfilled your mandate.
2. Discounter on transaction fee.
3. Rebates on transaction fee.
Obviously, for different instrument, market maker will be exposed to
difference level of risk, then all of above is subject to negotiation,
competition and your relationship to the exchange | s****h 发帖数: 3979 | 7 Under the current NYSE model, 6 market makers on the floor will get rebates
as liquidity providers.
Under the new coming NYSE model, market makers on the floor will get rebates
as liquidity providers AND for giving the national best quotes.
The transaction fee is quite low, 10 cents for 100 shares afaik
You need to pay huge member fee, as well as keep a lot of NYX shares.
LABRANCHE(LAB) did have a positive P&L last quarter, but they lost a lot on
their NYX holdings.
No idea about market makers i |
