I am not in NY. By accident , I am working as a quant developer in a hedge
fund company now. I worked in a big software company for many years, and got
bored. Also, finance is pretty interesting and quant job sounds enticing,
so I switched.
Now my dilemma is: my background is computer, stat master. My know C, Java,
XML etc, but my programming skill is not strong. I am now doing SAS, so my

clearly, it doesn't have to a PhD from top school to become a quant.
30s is not old at all. a professor starts its own investing company in his
late 60s. | c**********h 发帖数: 25 | 3 Thank you very much for your encouragement.
I am not sure if I should focus on improving my programming skills, or
improving my finance knowledge. Is there any career future if I just stay as
a quant developer, but make into a real quant? |
