想听听专业意见,cho算不算得上paranoid schizophrenia?Autism是肯定的
如果是,那他应该是有predisposition的,这类人会不会被生活中其他frustration
triger而发病。 比如没被bully过,但迟早会因为不顺心发病? |

I think he does have extremely negative personality, but not necessarily
mental illness.

Cho did has extremely negative personality, and isolates himself to the
society. But it seems that people around him ignored him for a long time
also. Should more people near him had tried to care him and approach his
heart, big tragedy like this might not happen.
We might never known whether Cho is mentally ill or not, or how serious he
was ill in his last days, since no evaluation nor treatment had been
performed at that time. His roomies reported that his behavior

People with antisocial personality disorder are often very successful in a
competitive society like US. They are more likely to be your boss than to be
a killer. |
I**********s 发帖数: 1573 | 7 According to his roomates and friends, when they made effort to make friends
with him, he refused.
The thing I don't understand is whether he really WANTED to fit in or not.
If he really did, I don't think it will be too hard. He's smart, talented in
some senses, and comparatively good looking. So if he REALLY want to, he
actually had many potentials to be popular in some way.

h*i 发帖数: 3446 | 8 You really believe those people's words? They are the ones who contributed
to his problem. Instead, reading Cho's statements, you can see that he
wanted to become a normal person.
I feel I can understand Cho's mental state, because I myself have always
been an introvert person and never fit in. People who lack social skills are
often more socially sensitive than normal people. If you "make effort" to
talk to him, he can feel that you are not treating him as a normal kid. Of
course he will resist

h*i 发帖数: 3446 | 13 You are certainly correct. I would argue that Cho's family contribute at
least half of the problem.
However, the point I wanted to make, is about the lessons the society should
learn from this unfortunate incident. Placing all the blame on Cho, or
simply labeling him a maniac is the worst thing the society can do, because
nothing positive is achieved that way.
The resistance to change to one's own behavior is great. It is much easier
to blame others than to introspect oneself. The society as a
