The ECCAC Chinese provides culturally competent advocacy, individual
family,
support, family support groups, course, and telephone support to
families
who are involved in the Santa Clara County mental health system.
Families
can request this free confidential services to assist them in
understanding
and navigating the county's mental health system.
**倡导代言 Advocacy

We promote cooperation and collaboration among family and service
providers through a variety of activities, e.g., seminars, workshops,
health fairs, conferences, public hearings, and translating relevant

We provide families with individual attention and support, such as home

Five monthly drop-in support groups that meet for 2 hours and are
facilitated by family members, consumers, and professionals provide
connection and understanding.

Staffed by bilingual professionals and family partners who provide
information and referrals to resources, such as mental health, medical,

失智症照護者的心路歷程 （趙方英先生）
趙先生將與我們分享他照顧患有早發性阿滋海默症的妻子多年的經驗與心路歷程，希望
能讓後來者對失智症有更好的了解，早作安排，少走彎路。
認識失智症與阿滋海默症 （老年科廖俊惠醫師）
廖醫師是資深內科/老年科專家，從醫三十餘年，先後效力於USC， Saginaw VA
Hospital，Stanford University， Palo Alto VA Medical Center，Santa Clara
Kaiser Hospital等多家醫院。多年前，在廖醫師的帮忙推动下，Santa Clara Kaiser
率先建立了記憶门診，專門照顧失智症的病患。廖醫師自去年年底從Kaiser退休後，轉
為服務於Vital Hospice，對於臨終病人的關懷照顧，不遺餘力。這次廖醫師將為我們
介紹當前對失智症的了解和研究進展，以及現有的治療與照護選擇。
失智症的神經心理學評估 （臨床神經心理師許台雲博士）
如何判斷一個看似正常的人是否有失智症， 何種類型的失智症，神經心理學評估的作
用至關重要。神經心理學的研究表明，不同類型的失智症的認知功能障礙是有差異的。
而且神經心理學評估能在失智症的“臨床”症狀發生之前好幾年檢測到認知功能障礙。
許博士將幫助我們了解臨床神經心理學是如何結合了神經學與行為心理學來達成失智症
的早期診斷，以及一個臨床神經心理學師為何能成為醫生，律師和您的家人的諮詢顧問。
中醫淺談阿滋海默症 （中醫師蔣雁平博士）
中醫認為人身是全體性並在多方面的功能下才能正常運行。內經學說「腎為先天之本」
和「腎主腦和髓海」，意指腎虛則營養難至腦髓，故會出現多種功能性腦萎縮等症狀譬
如智力退化、記憶力減緩等。 因此要防止阿茲海默症是要由多方面同步進行調理和補
助的。中醫講精、氣、神是生命三寶。經過這次中醫講座希望能運用飲食、運動和穴位
按摩來幫助病患和家屬提昇精、氣、神合一來達到預防老化和延年益壽的功能。
