I’ve had clients approaching me in the past month or two with questions
about a new type of address cropping up in as ICE candidates. As it so
happens, these new candidates have caused some broken experiences.
In this article, I’ll try to untangle how local ICE candidates work, what
is mDNS, how it is used in WebRTC, why it breaks WebRTC and how this could
have been handled better.
