both netbeans and eclipse are java app. They should work in MAC.
I use both in windows and linux.

I am sure [eclipse + pydev] work in Windows and linux machine.
my linux is running as guest vm on Windows.
Agree, Those IDEs are slow.You should get a newer machine if you want to do
software development. I buy a new machine every two years.

However, it's really bulky. and it's not working in Mac. It's not about
machine speed. eclipse load too many shit into it's environment. I prefer
to have something dedicated for python.
