available in Dr. Jing Yang’s lab at Houston Methodist Cancer Center,
Houston Methodist Research Institute. The fellow is being recruited for
projects aimed at identifying biomarkers for therapeutic targets in multiple
myeloma. The overarching goal of Dr. Yang’s translational research program
is to study the mechanism underlying the pathogenesis of multiple myeloma.
The lab currently focusing on the interaction of tumor cells with adipocytes
, the association of obesity and cancer, and the role of the bone marrow
microenvironment in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and bone metastasis. These
studies aim to provide novel and potential therapeutic targets and tools for
the treatment of myeloma patients.
Qualifications:
We seek a highly motivated and independent candidate who has a recent Ph.D.
and/or M.D. degree with less than two years of postdoctoral experience in
one or more of the following areas: molecular/cellular biology, metabolism,
immunology, tumor metastasis, and bone disease research. A candidate with a
solid molecular biology background is preferred. A track record of
excellent first-author publication during Ph.D. training is essential.
