申请faculty太辛苦了，眼下心理准备还没好，还想再等些日子。
专业是换不了了，不过地方还可以换换。
听说澳大利亚和欧洲的postdoc给的钱不少，谁知道详细的跟我说说啊。

挪威，税前大概70-80K美金，不过，据说北欧税很高，物价高...
日本，东京税前400-500万日元，税不高(<30万），前三年免税，但物价高；
澳洲，今年汇率高，收入高，朋友审过，不知详情。 |

发帖数: 751 | 8 USA is a good place, but I don't really see why USA is better than Australia
, EU, or even Japan. The competition is overwhelming, pay is not competitive
, and a lot of pressure.
I don't have spouse or kids, so my current plan will only concern my parents
, who apparently prefer to live in China.

广告上好像都不写给多少钱，美国postdoc都是faculty的跳板，大家都重视以后的发展
，眼光比较长远。
我的视野比较浅，人比较懒，想找个给钱多点的postdoc，混两年回国算了。

不过根据刚才的数字好像和北欧，澳大利亚和瑞士之类的差不多。

after you get green card and be a US Citizen.
I stayed in Japan for 5 years, I think USA is much better than Japan and
Europe, do not waste time.
