Apple Tree

Changing colors as the seasons pass,
The bark peels as it’s going into winter.
The tree leaves fall down to the ground
As wind blows
Carrying small snowflakes down
Everywhere as the tree and ground
Are covered by sugary whiteness.
The cold starts to fade
As light bathes the world and spring arrives.
Shoots on the ends and sides of branches
And they grow some flowers, mostly young leaves.
The bark grows back as the fragrance of the flowers
At full bloom
Waft through the air.
As the sun gets hotter, leaves grow bigger.
Summer, and the flowers turn to small green fruit
As breezes blow the tree.
The leaves start shriveling as the air gets colder,
Fall has come, the fruits ripen
As they fall to the ground.
The red-orange leaves also drop
As kids run from houses
And jump in the leaves
Munching on apples.
The tree is bare again
The kids have gone
Winter has come once more.
The snow starts to fall
And wind blows as kids cuddle in houses all cozy and warm.
The tree is bare, but to bloom another season. |
