Arrived 2pm the same club after having a good Chinese lunch
Paid $10 instead of $5. I did not ask why last night I paid $5 instead;
3 persons at the beginning;
Soon 6 persons including me;
Now most American guys;
1. First, I beat Jack Howard, who used to be one of the best players in USA
in 1960s-1970s. who was US Team Captain, led the “Ping Pong Diplomacy” to
China in 1971.

But he is old now;
I checked his USATT rating for resent 8 years, only around 1600-1953. I
guess that in 1960s-1970s, there was no rating system yet. His last USATT
playing is 7/11/2010, his rating dropped from 1838 to 1682. It is reasonable
that when one is old, …..
I won by 3:1
He is good at returning serves and set up a play. He also did one-short-
right-and-one-long-left-then-attack;
But he is old; I gave some consistent returns and let him to attack me so
that he sometime made mistake since he is neither fast nor agility
His chop has a lot of back spin so that be careful when looping --should
loop more with strong spins. The reminds me an old guy called Dr. Chopper in
southeast area, versus spin chop with backspin
2. Then, I played an American guy. He preferred just hitting. Consistent
hitting / looping
He had to go for moving a table to his truck for somewhere.
3. Then played with a young India guy and he said that his USATT rating is
1905
With 4 matches : 3:1; 3:1; 3:1; 3:1, I lost, all.
First two matches, although lost, but close in each game. The India guy
played very relax. At the beginning, he always severed soft and short balls,
when I chopped them back, they were more likely long; and the he used
backhand to loop my forehand big corner (fast and spin). Later I adjusted a
little bit by controlling the returning balls better by making them shorter,
and he increased the chances of mistakes.
His forehand is much better in looping.
I could not find much of his drawbacks.
After two matches, he changed his racket with long pips at the backhand.
Then he just used the pip to chop very backhand balls. I became in-
consistent in returning his pips return. Then I decided to defense his pip
returns instead of offensive so that it was safer.
I also found that it is more consistent to hit his pip returns than to loop
pip return. But still the pip returns were a little floating and a little
dead, it caused more errors.
Anyway, he won all 4 matches. He is a better player.
At this moment, the club only has three people left. I then decided to go to
watch Tebow' football game. I left the Ping-Pong club at 4:25pm. It turned
out to be a big disappointment for Tebow and his team’s performance.
