I want to simplify a sportsman as a computer system which has three
fundamental sub-systems: the hardware, the firmware, and the software.
Each sub-system is made by partially natural gift and partially learned
or build-up.
The hardware refer to your physical body which includes:
- Size: height, weight, arm span, leg length, fat or lean ...
- Speed: muscle speed, running speed, turning speed...
- strength(power in another term): force of your muscle generates
- stamina: the muscle endurance, Cardiod, lunge capacity... (身体派?)
The firmware refers to your nerve system (sensing and control) and its
sub-conscious reaction, which includes:
- Timing: for hitting, split step, etc.
- Judgement: reaction speed and accuracy for ball trajectory - height,
depth, spin, angle, court location....
- Body coordination: hand-eye, footwork, all the swing forms
The software refers to your brain and its conscious thinking, which
includes:
- Knowledge of Technics (what's the correct form should be, theoretical
high hands stay here)
- All kinds of tips, tricks, strategies ...
- ability to read opponent's game
- Emotional control (mental toughness)
- Knowledge of equipment: racquet, string, shoes... |
