DESY, Germany. The successful applicants will work on projects of mutual
interests with Prof. Huirong Yan. The possible starting date can be as soon
as Oct 2015, and the search continues till the positions are filled.
As one of Germany's largest research centres, DESY carries out fundamental
research that creates new knowledge and new conceptual approaches. It
conducts a broad spectrum of inter-disciplinary scientific research in
various areas including astroparticle physics. The successful candidate will
be given a research budget and have the opportunities for international
collaborations. DESY experts are playing leadership roles at a number of
international projects in astroparticle physics, including IceCube and CTA.
The postdoctoral appointment will be for two years with a possible extension
to the third year upon successful performance and funding situation.
Applicants with expertise on MHD simulations, high energy and plasma
processes are particularly encouraged to apply. Standard salary and benefits
will be provided. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, list of
publications, a 3-4 page statement of current and future research interests,
and arrange for three letters of recommendation to be sent directly to

For PhD scholarship, applicants should have a master degree (exception can
be made for those with excellent background). Offical transcripts,
curriculum vitae, a personal statement, and letters of recommendation are
required. English language ability (TOFEL, GRE, or IELTS) tests are
preferred.
