Dear ，
I checked your publication record and found a new paper online .
Apparently this is a new area for you, different from what you were
doing in graduate school and
from the topic of the paper I was reviewing; if you are interested in
it and would like to continue
doing similar things, you probably should look for research or
teaching positions at some places
where there is an emphasis on THIS theory.
On the other hand, you seem to be a young person, so if you feel like
you are interested in some
other field more, it is certainly not too late to
study for another degree.
I have no way of figuring out whether or not you are going to be more
successful and happier
in this new endeavor than you are now in your current position, and
whether it will be as you put it
"conductive to your original goals", whatever they are.
