(enjoy, from the notorious Motl blog.)
Quote: For instance, at the near-genius level (an IQ of 145), brilliant men
outnumber brilliant women by 8 to
one. That's statistics, not sexism.
In this context, Professor Greenfield's indignation that only one in ten
science professors is female doesn't
seem all that bad. It also goes some way to explaining why, in almost 110

because of brain size etc, I think about the Nazis who "proved" that Germans

It's not superiority I guess, it also says more men are stupider due to
shape of distribution.
Germans
about the Nazis, any historians look into the authenticity of their studies?
Did they really bother?
I am not an insider, so all I know is rumor.

z***i 发帖数: 1122 | 6 Professor Richard Lynn said in your article:
"These high-status males would also have been the most eligible mates, and
it would be their genes - chief among which would be those controlling male
brain size - that would be passed on to the next generation.
The result is that men today still have physically bigger brains than women,
even after adjustments for their different-body size. Might this underpin
the five-point difference in IQ between the sexes?"
Haven't we studied Einstein's brain alre

2)did you notice the question mark at the end of the quoted paragraph?
Apparently, the author himself is not sure if the brain size plays a factor
or not. He is still in search of the answer to that question.
3)Keep in mind that the conclusions in the article are statistical in nature
. Nothing individual.

c****e 发帖数: 2097 | 8 you know, another thing is, not only men scientists are doing research in
that field. by all means, people
should object to wrong conclusions. do get data which states the opposite.
and unlike Nazis, men are not all trying to eliminate women or putting their
female colleagues in labor camps.
they do joke about them of course, that's unavoidable sometimes.
feminism is pretty lousy regardless though, it's just like what's been done
to the economic situation in african
countries. in academia, it's

x********g 发帖数: 595 | 10 If you are a female physicist, I would say that, individually, you are as
capable as a typical male physicist. You have every reason to be proud of
yourself because you are good. And we male physicists are so glad to have
you around. However, as a group, you and other female colleagues are well
outnumbered by our male physicists. So it's natural that males contribute
much more to science than females. And it's natural that there are more male
physics professors, more male Nobel prize winners, mo

he left academia. He was an
absolutely brilliant physicist. He left Harvard not because of physics, but
rather for his personal reasons. Not
only he would have been promoted at Harvard, to associate at least, he was
also offered a permanent job at
Perimeter institute, but he refused to take them.
