It is said this RX100 is made in Japan.** Can anybody prove that?
I got an open-boxed one at BB that was made in China. The picture quality
sucks and just returned. |

Beware from Dpreview:
"Just a cautionary note, I bought one of these from BigValueInc on eBay and
discovered it was permanently fixed to 50i video, and also didn’t work with
my TV using the HDMI connection (TV displayed “Invalid format” message).
What’s more the label on the bottom of the camera read “60i”. I called
Sony USA support and they said that should never happen, that the label and
camera model are mis-matched.
Also resetting the camera defaulted to an Asian character set.
I returned it with no problem and received a full refund. Not sure if this
was unique to the one I received or might apply to other RX100’s being sold
."
