girl”. We have all, by trials and tribulations in life, had our share of
Summer or Jenny Beckman in our lives. Never holding anything back, we pour
our hearts out and heavily invest ourselves emotionally into who we think is
“the one”, until the moment of “fate”, that cruel bitch who announces
that you are not the one for who you thought was the one for you. Your soul
crushed and heart stomped on, it becomes a seemingly endless battle to
wrestle with the harsh reality. For a moment, there does not seem to be a
hint of light at the end of the tunnel.
But, like all things in life, some good has to come out of the extreme bad.
Summer believed there is no such thing as love, it’s all fantasy. While
that may be, and even with all the vivid memories of struggle and agony,
even when it gets so excruciating to the point that you can barely breath,
and even being fully aware of the prospect of yet another heartbreak,
somewhere, deep in our consciousness, we all secretly wish to ourselves,
that somehow, someway, possibly through a twist of that same thing called
fate, we can survive through it all, until that Autumn comes along and
enters our life. We may be weak enough to get heart again, but we are always
strong enough to embrace love.
Let’s also genuinely give our best to the Summers we may have encountered.
Thank you for adding those colorful chapters into the course of our lives.
Even if the flames of passion between us fizzled out, we shall never forget
or regret those moments when sparks were flying. You may have put me through
some hell by smashing my heart into pieces that can’t even be glued back
together, but you also turned me into a more complete human being. Through
you, I lived.
And yes, the subtle essence of all failed romance may just lie in that
spirit of rather having loved, lost and pained with all our heart and soul
each and every time, than having never loved and lived at all. | p***e
