Data Source: KBB
Car Type: Honda Accord LX 4 door Sedan, with no option chosen
Assumptions:
1 Honda Accord LX keeps the same price every year when bought new
2 They have the same market reviews/responses. e.g, a 2 years old accord of
a certain milage always sells the same price
3 All cars are driven 12500 miles per year
4 For the first 5 years, there's no repair cost. There's $500 regular repair
cost annually from then on. This cost includes regular maintainence and
regular repairs such as brake pads, tires and timing belt, etc, but does not
include gas cost, traffic violations, or repair cost from car accidents.
Conclusions and results:
1 A Honda Accord LX 4 door sedan roughly cost you $1500-$2000 annually
2 If you buy a new accord now, the best time to sell it is 6 years later
3 If you know how long you want to drive this car, you'll know the best
value car in terms of age.
4 If you are buying a car of certain age, you'll know when you want to sell
it
5 Buying a new Accord cost you roughly $2500-$3500 more than buying an old
one
6 Because of price fluctuations of used Accords in different years (most
likely because of the customer/market response of the car), there seems to
be a bad time to sell a car no matter how old they are. This dip in the
value may just due to lack of data. Actually any conclusions may just be wrong due to lack of data, but I did it anyways.... | b********6 发帖数: 35437 | |
