still put it into my portfolio, because I feel the girl in the picture is
directly looking into my heart.
Photographic techniques are important, but they are not everything. A
successful picture is is not a pure demonstration of techniques. Rather it
is a media, often supported by photographic techniques, to convey emotions,
feelings, and to connect to the audience.
I learned the following from Mr. Danny Dong, the 1st place winner in wedding
photography in WPPI 2012.
"Art can not be judged by rules. Art is subjective. Sometimes you just like
a photo for no reason, even if it isn't perfect. My suggestion is, follow
your heart."
"Many award winning photos received the following comment, 'I don't know why
, I just like it, it connects me.'"
