example out of many situations where you can buy a brand new device for
$299 but you can't run the apps/games you want.
This is in addition to Apple's exclusive contents, like iTunes University,
iTunes books, Flipboard, Instagram, Infinity Blade 2, just to name a few.
Most apps/games still come out for iOS first, they are optimized on iOS
and gets updates way way later on Android.
Apple is worth more than Microsoft + Google (revenue, profit, market
value, you name it) combined despite a very very very old dated screen
size. What if they add two screen size choices for iPhone 5 like they do
for iMac/Macbook Air/Macbook Pro? |

对多数人这些比什么real racing 2有用
其他的软件比如Flipboard，替代品很多，比如pulse, miniweb,鲜果等等。而且越来越
多的软件在跨平台。i平台exlusive的东西已经越来越少，以后很难成为决定新的平台
选择因素。

fragmentation.
If you go Android, you are going to get everything later and there is
never a guarantee it will work with your device. iOS does not allow
easy access of file systems for a reason, piracy is far far far far far
less of an issue with iOS, that's why developers actually get paid
billions of dollars to develop for it. Google only shows 450,000 apps,
a huge number of which being wall papers / launchers / task managers /
screen customizations, LOL, never ever the amount of money Android
developers actually made. That is why Apple is far more likely to crack
the barrier and get access to high end, exclusive contents.
What would iPod be without iTunes? Just another MP3 player.
What would iPhone be without the best app store in the world?
iTextbook / iBookstore and soon iTV will add to Apple's incredible lead.
They have enough cash to buy exclusive contents which drives their
product. And more importantly they have a closed system which is much
more comfortable for content providers like publishing/cable companies
to work with. |

near the #1 most valuable company it is today (and their P/E ratio is
still only 15). A closed system only works if you are making more money
than everyone else combined. Of course being #1 also means you have
nowhere to go but down.
No empire lasts forever, eventually politics/bureaucracy will erode any
company, but Tim Cook is a defender, the perfect person to guard an empire
and its 100 billion cash. His excellent defense and perfect operational
plays (#1 supply chain management in the industry) allowed Steve Jobs to
play pure offense.
The big three of Cook/Ivy/Forstall is enough to keep Apple at the top.
But sooner or later some of their senior managers will lose a power
struggle and decide to be CEO at another company (like the guy who left to
run JC Penny).
All of them are incredibly rich, talented enough to be CEO at other big
companies, and Cook will have a very hard time keeping egos together with
his personality.
Until then however, it is #1. |

download the pirated songs/movies from internet and you copy them to idevice
w/ itunes. you jailbreak the idevice and install pirated apps from cydia.
you install the legitimate but pirated novels from appstore. you use xbmc,
qvod player or even safari to watch online pirated movies/shows.
i often find it so funny to watch on apple board that one apple user claims
apple users are richer, copyright law abiding while another apple user
constantly recommends "free" apps/resources in weiphone/cydia and
refurbished apple products deals.
zero fragmentation also means another year with 3.5" screen. its 2 year
behind the wave. good luck with that.
