12 月 22 日，三星宣布 Galaxy S 和 7 寸 Galaxy Tab 无法升级到 Android 4.0（
ICS），原因是它们没有足够的 RAM 和 ROM 来运行 ICS 和三星的 TouchWiz。（韩语

这个“艰难决定”结合以下几个因素，影响深远：
用户：Galaxy S 手机用户是 2000 万（截止 10 月）
诺言：三星曾经承诺过给全部 Galaxy 设备 ICS 升级
对比：与 Galaxy S 配置基本相同的 Nexus S 已经可以更新 ICS，甚至 CPU 才
600MHz 的 LG Optimus 和 索爱Xperia 产品也要更新 ICS
最怕莫过于对比，Galaxy S 是 1G CPU，怎么 600MHz 的手机能驱动的系统，它都驱动
不了，TouchWiz 也不至于占用 400MHz 的 CPU 吧？所以三星官方博客用韩语发布这个
消息后，经过 The Verge 的报道，引起强烈反响。The Verge 在 23 日早上的新闻有
300 多条评论，下午 3 点的评论有 500 多条讨论。舆论风向一边倒，概括为一个词就
是：坑爹。
The Verge 作者 Vlad Savov 评论的标题是《如果三星不关心消费者，那怎么来留住他
们》，他在文中把三星称为“狭隘的硬件制造商”：
三星认为它与消费者的关系在卖出设备那一刻就结束了。虽然苹果、微软等其他软件厂
商深知服务好现在的用户即意味着吸引潜在的用户，三星的态度却仍然深深地扎根于它
的历史——一个硬件制造商。它一揽子考虑生产和研发成本，并根据销售收入来平衡它
们，却从来没有进行长远考虑——是否会有回头客重复购买三星产品。
人们排着长队在等待他们的新 iPhone，因为苹果 care 它的顾客。如果三星想让这些
排长队的人来买它的产品，而不只是逗个乐子（指前一阵 Galaxy S II 戏谑 iPhone
的视频广告），三星最好现在开始 care 它的顾客。
当然，吐槽的还有 BI、TNW、Slashgear 等等，用词都不太文雅，我不就不一一摘录了。
单就 Vlad Savov 这一段指责来说，抛出了一个重大问题。——三星是不是一个硬件制
造商？废话，当然是。那么这个重大问题就是“硬件制造商和软件商的关系”。
这是又一次平台与厂商的纠纷，结论可能与——《平台与应用之争：这次是 Facebook

may be coming to other iDevices.
Please remember Siri is beta too. Apple may very well just limit it to 4S
during beta. Siri server was overwhelmed by 4S alone. And Apple always
differentiate its product lines.
Nonetheless, Google or Samsung do not have to provide free software upgrades
. If Apple never did that, no one will ever blame Samsung or HTC.
Simply put, the standard sort of has been set by Apple (or maybe even BB etc
before Apple).

Siri app has to be removed, otherwise it is a distraction and will damage
the image of the new Siri. If I am in charge, I'll make the same decision.
It's simply very important in Apple's marketing.
Also, if Siri app was that good, it must have a lot of users already. But no
. It's not as good as new Siri. People did not lose Siri app because they
were not using it anyway. Well, yes, a very small number of previous Siri
users.
I am sure Siri will come to other iDevices in the future. And Mac OS X too.
Siri is still a beta. Apple has rarely released any software so rough-edged.
It is almost certain it's rushed out to be in time with 4S. So it is also
reasonable to believe that Apple hadn't got time to finish tweaking Siri to
work on all devices.

something else. Apple chose no but completely disabled Siri for old ios
users. It doesn't matter how many old users there were. Blocking them from
accessing a regular app is simply discrimination and sick. If Siri finally
comes to other ios device, you should thank those hackers and non-ios
developers. They proved Siri is applicable and they push Apple to do that.
The level of Android support is definitely case by case depending on the
hardware manufacturers.And unlike ios, people have the choices of third
party roms. Fragmentation is lesser problem once the platform getting more
matured.
Again, market competition is the key to consumer welfare. If fanbois like to
pay Apple tax, just do it. Most people would like to enjoy the lower prices
and better functionality available on the market.

while the selling point is a much better new Siri.
The inferior old Siri app will dilute the value and cause at least some
confusion among users. Also, 3GS users without a clue will get the Siri app
and a large percent of them will then think the new Siri is nothing special
based on their experience with the app.
Apple is more premium brand. And this is part of the reason how apple
maintained its image.
