I was just chatting with an AT&T rep and she told me that if I upgrade from
my 3gs to an iPhone 4 that I would lose my $30 unlimited data plan and would
be forced into downgrading to the 2gb or 200mb plan. Is that true? From
what I've read I thought I would be able to keep my unlimited plan. Can
someone clear this up for me please?
Here is the conversation:
Ryan: will I be able to keep the data plan I have now? Which is the $30
unlimited
Ashleigh: When you change phones you will be required for the updated
services available.
Ashleigh: The Unlimited Data for $30 is not considered a Grandfather Plan.
Ashleigh: We have DataPlus for 200 MB for $15/month and DataPro for 2
GB for $25/month available for the iPhones.
Ryan: Even though I already have that plan? From my understanding and
with previous conversations I had with an AT&T rep, they assured me
that I would be able to keep that data plan.
Ryan: They said I would be able to keep that plan for as long as I
want, but if I did switch to a different plan I wouldn't be allowed to
switch back.
Ashleigh: You may keep your current Data Plan as long as you keep the
phone you are using active, and don't change phones or services.
Ashleigh: You may keep the plan as long as you want on the current
phone, however when you change phones it automatically has to update
to a different Data Package. |
