Samsung Electronics (SSNLF) has no intention of purchasing the “WebOS”
operating system from Hewlett-Packard (HPQ), writes Bloomberg’s Jun Yang
this morning, citing remarks by Samsung CEO Choi Gee Sung during a press
event at an electronics conference in Germany.
The CEO remarked that buying operating system software is something of a fad
, or “becoming a fashion,” as he put it, and that that’s not right. He
said Samsung is focused on enhancing its own software, called “Bada.”
Samsung also makes devices to run Google’s (GOOG) Android and Microsoft’s
(MSFT) Windows Phone 7. | c********n
