用Android系统的Smart Phone里的Google Map和Navigator秒杀Garmin，TomTom，以及
麦哲伦。
1.地图自动update，免费
2.实时路况信息订阅，免费
3.Turn by turn navigation
4.语音提示清晰，每个路口提示两次（第一次2分钟前，第二次大约20秒前，临近的路口会
一起提醒，如：turn left and then slight right）
5.所谓的POI就更秒杀了，因为是基于Google Map
6.定位准确（4m），响应速度快（无延迟），多重定位手段（3G手机信号，GPS卫星信号，Wifi
网络信号，定位30s内完成，当然GPS开启时卫星是primary）
7.语音提示友好：你再也听不到烦人的“recalculating。。。” Google Navigator的理
念是司机永远正确。当偏离既定路线时，会自动重算并按新路线提示，但永远不会说那个没用
的“recalculating”
8.具备avoid toll, avoid/prefer high way等功能，且没有Garmin著名的“打死不上
high way”的bug。
9.道路/地图信息采用“open source”模式，用户可以对地图错误、出口提示模糊的路段实时反
馈（单击图标便可report bug），Google强大的后台实时维护。（有次发现回家下高速的出口
提示很misleading，但第二周同样的路线，发现同一出口的语音提示已经update，比上周的时
候清晰明确了许多，相信是基于用回反馈作出的调整）
10.和Google账户同步，这个功能实在是非常非常非常的强大：（1）手机通讯录和Gmail通讯
录、facebook通讯录、LinkedIn通讯录同步，也就是说，不管你保存在哪里的联系人信息都同
步到你的smart phone上，有地址的联系人可以直接用Navigator导航去他家或他单位，省去输
入地址的繁琐；（2）在电脑上Google Map找到你要去的地方，然后用star标记，这些star
（s）就自动出现在你smart phone的Google Map上，（因为Google账户是同步的），
Navigate时点一下那些star就可以开始导航了，省去输入地址的繁琐；（3）没有任何准备情况
下，可以在smart phone上直接google 搜索你要去的目的地，然后看见搜索结果中的地址，点
一下显示在Google Map中，再点一下进入导航状态。。。 还有很多很多强大的用法，恕不能穷
尽。
11.有手机专用的Car Mount，外形和GPS一样一样一样的。我见过Moto Droid的Car Mount
的视频广告：当用户把Droid手机架到mount上后，手机界面自动切换至GPS模式。。。手机直接
变GPS。
12.其他基于Smart phone的功能顺带提一句：导航时接听电话，在线听歌，听广播。
13.软件的更新也比较频繁，而且经过数次更新后，Map+Navigator的速度更快了，功能更加丰
富/简介/界面友好了。
Smart Phone+ Google Navigator的缺点，自然有，罗列数条供参考/讨论：
1.虽然GPS功能，地图升级，实时路况统统免费，但是这些服务是included在smart phone用
户每月的15刀至30刀的data fee里面的。
2.屏幕小——手机本身特点的限制（但例外的也有，如Moto Droid X， 4.3寸大屏。。。）
3.Apple的Navigator也用Google的，但是让Navigator说话需要额外付费。
如上所述，Smart phone GPS取代传统GPS将是大势所趋（据媒体报道，预计至2012年Smart
Phone用户数量将达到70～80%，而目前这个数字是15～20%）。Garmin，TomTom以及麦哲伦
应该赶快研究下如何转型，或者联合起来Anti Trust Google吧，否则Bankrupcy只是时间问
题。

Vector graphics also enable another significant new feature: the ability to

than 100 times less data to view maps across all zoom levels than before, al

With this first version, Maps proactively caches map data for the places you
use Maps the most—where you’re actively using it as well as places for wh

over WiFi, caching happens automatically. Near your frequent places, you’l

labeled. Further away, you’ll have less detail but will typically have tow

Offline rerouting
With Google Maps Navigation (Beta), you’ll also see the benefits of additio
nal caching with offline rerouting. This feature is only possible because Na
vigation caches not only map data but also data like turn restrictions for t
he areas surrounding your route. You’ll still need to be connected when you
first start a trip to download and cache your route. But this way, even if
you take a wrong turn after losing your connection, Navigation can use the c
ached data to get you back on your way. We will be rolling this feature out
gradually over the next few weeks.

楼主说了半天，其实应该表扬的nokia的智能手机，
不能上网的用户，可以使用免费离线导航，或是garmin，nokia可是navteq的东家。
能上网的用户，在使用离线地图的时候，还可以用agps定位，也能实现poi的更新。
