I have to say it really depends. Two years ago, a lot of master graduates
found jobs in big GIS companies, such as ESRI, Benteley Microstation, Erdas,
etc. Also, some found government jobs as a planner or GIS specialist.
Nowadays, it is becoming hard.
Although the future is not predictable, GIS is kind of stable, which means you
cannot make big money out of it, but your job is more secure.
If you pay by yourself, statistics or computer science might be a better
