. I think Half Dome is a good all-around tent, not too small for car camping
, yet not too heavy for backpacking. It is something in between but not
ideal for either. I know people who bought it and use it as their only tent
for all kinds of trips, until they finally decide to buy separate car
camping and backpacking tents.

发帖数: 1285 | 10 This one is not free-standing. I used to think that non-free-standing
is really bad because sometimes it's hard to find stake places. But it
turned out not to be so since one needs almost always stake the tent,
with convenient stake points or not.
I use a Sierra Designs Lightning 2 for backpacking. The pack weight is
about 4.5 lbs.

And also, for two people, you can always share the weight, like splitting
the tent poles and tent/rain fly.
