pro:
wonderful outdoor resources--very green, a lot of water, mountains, etc,
very hard to beat it
all-year activities availabe--summer (hike, camp, blahblah), winter (ski,
etc)
realtively low housing price
bike friendly and traffic tolerable
close to seattle
family friendly in suburb--library, farmer's market, community center, etc--
probably same in most other places
good potetionality in the future--my wild guess...intel is going to build
another 3000- employee factory in hillsboro, california is going down, oregon can rise
up a bit if the local protectionism becomes less strong
con:
not many job opportunities--changing jobs may mean moving
not many good colleges and univs--Reed only
still west coast, closer to china--but need to make a stop at seattle/
vancouver/xxx to get the direct flight (not sure about this)
fine k-12 schools--but not great (around median nationally?)
small city--meaning no large-scale museums, shows, operas, sports teams
no decent chinese restauratns--dim sum is an exception
similar to Qing Dao in China in my mind.. | O**********n

than SF; Life is more relaxing here. I like the moisture here, not the dry
weather in the Bay area. |
