L******X 发帖数: 216 | 1 The nurse in the outpatient clinic teaches a young adult with a sprained
right ankle to walk with a cane. While teaching the client to use the cane,
how should the nurse be positioned?
Standing on the client's left side and slightly behind the
clent
解释是:stand slightly behind patients on stong side.
Stand at the affected side of the client
when ambulating.

【在 L******X 的大作中提到】 : The nurse in the outpatient clinic teaches a young adult with a sprained : right ankle to walk with a cane. weak side and slightly behind the client.

Have the client hold the cane in the hand opposite the affected leg, because
this action promotes safety and cooperation. By holding the cane on the
stronger side, the client has more control and strength for using it.
Move the cane and the weaker leg forward at
the same time for the same distance. Place weight on the weaker leg and the
cane. Move the strong leg forward. Place weight on the strong leg.
cane placed 6 inches AHEAD of the client's body.
