I just got back from the NAEYC convention in Dallas. I am always amazed by
the sheer number of people dedicated to early childhood education and the
quality of the sessions is beyond compare. I have brought so many new ideas
back, but I was introduced to a new movement there that I had to share with
you.
Vroom is a new organization focused on brain development in children birth
through 5. It was developed by a group of dedicated scientists, community
leaders and trusted brands, with input from community organizations and
families like yours. By joining together, they’re providing parents,
teachers, and caregivers with ways to boost early learning.
My favorite quote from the session – “When a child’s eyes light up, their
brain is lighting up too!” I invite you to check out their website at
joinvroom.org and also download the Vroom app. The app provides on activity
per day that you can do with your child to boost their brain development.
The app is free and so are the activities. I have never seen such a
powerhouse of early childhood thinkers on one board of directors before.
They know parents are busy. They also know how concerned they are about
Kindergarten Readiness and the academic pressures facing their children down
the road. Vroom is designed to boost brain development through quick
activities we can do while we are engaged with our daily routines.
