comparison: The differences have been controlled for other variables such as
sex, citizenship, athlete and legacy
status, # of AP tests and SAT II test, GPA, class rank, National merit
scholar status, and high school type.

and merit-based college admission policy.应该是for 吗？
其实在中国不也这样吗，考大学时，外地生原要比上海北京生原高好多分才行。。。不
